Planning a wedding takes a lot of work and we have a few tips that may help you save some time and money.
PLAN YOUR BUDGET – Set a reasonable spending budget to cover all expenses. Remember to save $$ for the honeymoon! - GET ORGANIZED – Create a notebook where you can list your appointments, keep your contracts, schedule your appointments, and store all your creative ideas.
- BOOKING – We recommend that you book the reception hall FIRST! Everything after that falls into place. Research and compare vendors and prices. You’ve already done the easy part and hired Timeless Impressions Photography
- GUEST LIST – You want to invite the whole world! But don’t go overboard on your guest list because it will get costly. Keep it manageable and within your budget.
- The DRESS – Be on the look out for specials and sales. Ask your friends/family where they bought their wedding dresses. Look at magazines, online, and get a feel for the style you like and what compliments your body type. Take a family member and best friend when you try on your dress to be sure it’s the right fit and the right look for you. Wear something that is comfortable! Beauty hurts but we’ve seen too many brides suffer because the dress was too tight, uncomfortable or they just couldn’t move!
- HONEYMOON – Try to save enough $$ for a nice honeymoon – a cruise, Hawaii or, if necessary, don’t feel guilty by being a little selfish and cutting your wedding costs for a more exotic honeymoon like Europe, Greece, Brazil etc.
- EMERGENCY BAG – Assign a bride’s maid or friend to prepare in your bride’s purse – lipstick/lip gloss, foundation/powder, mini mirror, bobby pins, tissue, breath mints. In a separate emergency bag have a brides maid or friend have at the ready items such as: “Shout” (spray or wipes, it cleans spots on a wedding dress), more bobby pins, make up bag, scissors, Tylenol, water, snacks, gums, breath mints, perfume, cute/comfortable sandals, hair spray, brush/comb, extra stockings, tissues, lint brush.
- REST - The night before have a good nights rest, even we recommend that you get a nice massage to ease your muscles and nerves.
- ENJOY - The most important step. ENJOY planning your wedding and more importantly ENJOY your wedding day!!!
Wedding Day:
- EAT BREAKFAST- It doesn’t have to be a big meal. You’re so anxious that you forget to eat! Assign someone who will remind you to eat and feed you. Believe it or not, we have seen brides faint from not eating. And don’t forget to have snacks and water handy during the photo sessions.
- DON’T STRESS – The worst part of your day will be the stress if all those little things don’t fall into place. The vibe of the wedding goes by the bride’s attitude. Coming from experience, no wedding is 100% perfect. Accept the human error and be understanding. Remember, no matter what, this is the happiest day of your life!
- SMILE – Everyone wants to see a bride and groom smile at all times, it really makes for such a pleasant atmosphere!
- ENJOY – Your day is going to go by so fast! Use every second to enjoy your special day. Again, don’t let imperfections ruin your day, remember to make the best of it. You’re the one’s who will create those memories for yourselves and those around you, and when you look back you will remember that you enjoyed your wedding!
